David Whitehouse

  • Turner Contemporary Rendezvous Margate, England, CT9 1HG United Kingdom (map)

David Whitehouse speaks to Lisa Owens about his latest book, Saltwater Mansions. They will discuss the impact of grief and the dangerous allure of taking true crime stories into our own hands. His second work of creative non-fiction, the book blends reportage and memoir to explore the extraordinary hidden lives of ordinary people.

An award-winning author and screenwriter, David Whitehouse has published three novels. In 2022, he published his first non-fiction title About a Son, telling the story of the senseless murder of 20 year old Morgan Hehir based on diaries written by his father Colin.

Lisa Owens is a novelist and screenwriter. Her 2016 debut novel Not Working was a Radio 4 Book at Bedtime, and published in fourteen territories. Her second novel, Natural Disaster, will be published by Virago in 2026.
