Getting published is all about stepping stones. Writing a manuscript. Polishing it. Submitting it to agents. And then, the hard work starts… Author GD Wright, agent Katie Fulford and editor Anna Nightingale will talk you through the process of getting published, from rough draft to book on the shelves.
Former Thanet police officer GD Wright published his debut crime fiction novel After the Storm in 2024 through HarperCollins imprint Avon. The follow-up Into the Fire, again set in the fictional seaside town of Beachbrook, arrived earlier this year.
Literary agent Katie Fulford spent 25 years at HarperCollins in a variety of roles and was Executive Producer on Channel 4’s 2019 critically acclaimed TV adaptation of The Tiger Who Came To Tea by Judith Kerr. She works in both fiction and non-fiction, offering authors representation and guidance across all media and in all markets.
Anna Nightingale is Commissioning Editor at HarperCollins imprint Avon. She has previously worked at Bloomsbury’s Head of Zeus and Penguin’s Transworld. She works with authors across the commercial fiction spectrum, from psychological thrillers to romantic comedies.
