Children’s Bookie badge competition

Our winning badge design

For this year’s Children’s Bookie, we asked children from four local primary schools to design a badge that will be given away to attendees of the festival.

We had over 1000 entries and choosing a winner was extremely difficult - the standard was incredible! At one point our ‘shortlist’ had around 400 entries.

A winner was eventually agreed though, with Tabitha from Garlinge Primary School taking the top prize. As well as seeing her badge brought to life, she also wins a bundle of books and two weekend passes to the Children’s Bookie.

Our three runners up were Layton from Cliftonville, Ruby-Rose from Drapers Mill and Jennifer from Northdown. They also win books and festival passes.

We’ve put as many entries as we can fit into the window of the Margate School on Margate High Street. They will be on display until Sunday, so you can see for yourself how amazing all the children’s work was.

Thank you so much to the children and teachers at Garlinge Primary School, Cliftonville Primary School, Drapers Mills Primary School and Northdown Primary School!

The Children’s Bookie takes place at the Turner Contemporary on 11-12 October. Book tickets.
