From Scene to Script: Writing for Graphic Novels

  • The Drum at Droit House Stone Pier Margate, England, CT9 1JD United Kingdom (map)

Graphic novel writing workshop with Bex Glendining

A beginner friendly workshop guiding you through the creation of a short graphic novel script. Participants will have the option to work from a choice of scenes or bring along some of their own writing to be turned into a comic script.

The workshop will run through the basics of graphic novel script formatting and how images and text work together on the page. You'll look at panel breakdowns, and be guided on how to identify key moments, convert dialogue to speech bubbles and action into manageable panels.

Bring whatever you're most comfortable writing on. No special software is needed, pen and paper is fine, as is digital.
