The Kent Poetry Championships return to Margate Bookie!
The Bookie Slam is back for its eighth incredible instalment. Get those fingers snapping for 11 poets from across the South East as they compete for cash prizes and a future shot at the Kent Poetry Championship Belt.
Slots are first come, first served with an 11th slot raffled off on the night for those who were slower on the draw.
Each poet has three minutes for their performance
Time starts as soon as they're in position on the stage.
For every ten seconds over, one point will be deducted from their total.
Three judges will be drawn from the audience at the start of the show.

Plus, a feature set from reigning Kent Poetry Champion Jake Nathan.
Jake Nathan is a poet and artist, living in Essex. He is a multiple time poetry slam champion, a Genesis Grand Slam Champion and is the current Kent Poetry Champion. He performs his poetry across the country and has a poetry EP called The Bear Necessities available on Spotify, Apple Music and other streaming platforms.
